It's less important when you have mouse control though, its more for games that you play with a controller where the screen tearing becomes apparent.

First time I've ever played a game where vsync didn't stop the screen tearing for me so I'm not sure if it's a common problem, there is a way to fix Default is set to unlimited which can go crazy on heavy fights with multiple players.
