It seems as though solution 3 does a more thorough reinstall that includes downloading a fresh software image from the BT server first.See http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision/Frozen-screen/m-p/735344#M41686Anyway, if you haven't already tried it then I have checked broadband, ethernet connection and carried out factory reset twice and get the same result.
