Its working for the Button control when it is created in Design time. //i know i can do this all in design view , but i want this to be done You are a complete life saver! When I run the page or view in browser, it comes up in IE by default. I noticed that if we have some "RequiredFieldValidators" in a web custom composite control, we should set an ID value for each of the components in it so the problem disappears!
