Canon Shutter Button Not Working
I've tried this metod for more than 20 times and also step 5a. Do you have another link? I have a S2 IS and trying your solution worked OK at the time, but it still drops back to a stuck shutter (pain 'o' pain when significant other needs a But encouraged by the two intrepid adventurers above, I dug out this old camera from my parts box and commenced to tapping its side against wooden furniture. Loading... Thought I'd share it here as it saved a huge amount of time and money!

I found you and tried the solution and wow it worked. I then noticed the shutter button issue and he wanted me to send it to his repair shop to fix. used 20Ds can go for under $250, depending on the condition... Tried it about 20 times.

It would sometimes require a firm push and sometimes fire normally, but most of the time, the button would bottom out before it would fire. Gear is gear, gotta do wif what you got! I have a s2 is and just had the same problem. Any ideas? 30 people had this problem. I started following your steps with the same hope with mu Canon S2 IS but unfortunately after 20-25 attempts it still takes completely black pictures. have a peek at these guys The rotary switch on top, behind the shutter release, also slipped, the spray also resolved this issue.
Thanks for the post on the S2IS shutter problem. I t hought it was actually exposure related because I didnt have any issues taking photos of bright scenes, it was in dark scenes that the trigger would not fire.That said, Also would not recommend that you do this on a perfectly working camera, as I'm not sure what the power interuptions may do to the camera.
It is my understanding that this problem is consistant with 10D, and 30D's as well and the fix is nearly the same.
This flex cable have to be bent every time.Don't expose your camera to high temperature. Yes No Can you tell us more? The darkened room without flash should give you a prolonged exposure, hopefully giving you enough time to conduct Step 4 while the shutter is trying to move.Step 3. I got estimates of $300 for sending it in to Canon for repairs - and thought there might be a better way… After searching YouTube, I found a simple video using
