I also hear the similar light clicking noise when when my camera is trying to focus. I try to remember to switch lenses to manual before removing from the camera, but sometimes I forget and my 4 year old very well used lens is showing signs of Do they look more or less the same? The problem is when AF is active , when the camera is moving or holding the focus ring.Just think about it for 1/125th of a sec. Any other lens addon's like magnification and closeup filters can also cause problems. Now even though the lens isn't professional glass I figured it wouldn't even be that bad, considering the fact that it didn't have too many optics in it for being a Occasionally, after whirring for around 10 seconds, the lens will eventually focus, I get the AF lock, and I can take the photo but this doesn't always occur.
