Canon Powershot S3 Is Display Not Working

Keep repeating until it unsticks. You can still see the pictures & take them , but it looks like eventually the whole screen will become black. ... It took more than 10 attempts second time for the image to reappear.Thanks a bunch for the info. Thanks!
Canon Powershot S2 Is No Image In Viewfinder
It takes black pictures only. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. It means that each time I switched it on, I have to switched the swivel button more strongly now than before. It seems like the shutter just selectively works...Any thoughts?Thanks!

Whenever I brought the camera to a camera shop in Vancouver (where I used to live in Canada) they told me that it does not worth the effort to fix it. Hello, I own a Canon S2IS and tried the "simple fix".
Alternative Fix (use caution!). I bought an S2 IS when they first came out, suffered through the dreaded black image and set the camera aside for well over a year. OK... Canon Lcd Screen Black Had the same problem with my A610 and tried this a couple of times and it seems to work.
It's just that before I take a picture, the LDC is completely black.Could this also be a case of shutter jamming? I eventually discovered my camera was killing the batteries with it turned off. Most everyone seems to agree that the issue is caused by disuse. I'm in the UK. I know it's an old camera, I adore it though and am sad to think it will get shelved. I've look close to the lens and it's a stuck shutter - CLOSED.
