It will pop up in automatic mode under low light but won't flash nor will strobe to help focus. I hadn't used it since, but yesterday I was pissed to find that the flash was stuck down again! is online now I have a canon rebel xti. Canon Hot Shoe Micro Switch I haven't reflashed the camera.

Please don't hold me responsible for this ruining your camera... Turns out there was something in the flash mechanism slowing things down and WD-40 cleaned it out. (Note: WD-40 is used to displace water and does not conduct electricity. After that, turning off and back on is the only option.
