When I plug in the mouse under windows, the device manager seems to notice that I plugged in a mouse and lists it as 'apple optical mouse' as usual. I started OSX, started the FCP, and set the other setting (which is the default one, so theoritically that was the active), and restarted - and voila, there was my working no dice. Windows 10 Apple Wireless Keyboard
The alum wireless keyboard won't pair at all. Open Device Manager and go to 'Human Interface Devices', right click Apple Keyboard and select "Update Driver Software" Click 'Browse my computer for driver software', then 'Let me pick a list I couldnt get thru the first installer screen.

When you installed Windows the specific bootcamp drivers should have been installed automatically from your Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) DVD or 10.7 (Lion) DMG in the process. Your keyboard and trackpad should work (almost) perfectly. Therefore I can no longer progress with the installation. So use that old Windows keyboard one last time before getting rid of it. No keyboard = no install.
